SMARTX – European Smart Textiles Accelerator

The European Smart Textiles Accelerator (SmartX) is a 3-year program, supported by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation plan.

El European Smart Textiles Accelerator (SmartX) It is a 3-year program (2019-2022) and a total budget of 2,4 million euros, which aims to promote promising prototypes that reach the market more quickly. This project is supported by the research and innovation plan 2020 Horizon of the European Union

SmartX aims to drive smart textile innovation to develop a smart textile manufacturing value chain end-to-end in Europe and help push promising prototypes faster to market and at reasonable prices. The project promotes new industrial value chains composed of textile manufacturers, microelectronics/nanoelectronics, integrators, IoT (Internet of Things) data processing specialists, technology providers, distributors and end users.

SmartX drives innovation in product development close to commercial launch in 3 sectors: Protection, Sports, Health and Wellbeing.

The program has already organized three funding calls to support up to 40 projects with a total budget of 2,4 million euros. 25 individual or consortium projects have finally been selected with a direct impact on more than 40 companies.
