This project, developed from 2014 to 2015, was the beginning of the textile hyper cluster in the Mediterranean basin. With the participation of eight regions and a budget of two million euros, TEX-MED Clusters aimed to improve the global competitiveness of the textile industry and increase the volume of links, partnerships and cooperation between Mediterranean countries. The cluster was made up of both large companies and SMEs.
The TEX-MED Clusters project worked to create an integrated Mediterranean textile system, in order to replace the old model of relocation and subcontracting with a more advanced and balanced one based on multi-location and co-contracting.
