The project "Study of Synergies for INDUSTRIAL SYMBIOSIS in the region of Catalonia for the textile sector" (TEXBIO), has aimed to encourage, promote and validate synergies based on Industrial Symbiosis, mainly between companies associated with Texfor - Conferación de the textile industry. The companies that are part of it encompass the entire value chain of the textile sector, from spinners, weavers, manufacturers and finishers.
The Industrial Symbiosis, which is defined within the Circular Economy, has the ultimate objective of maximizing the competitiveness of companies and contributing to the sustainability of the territory, based on the use by a company or sector of the byproducts of other entities. This makes it possible to optimize and maximize efficiency in the use of resources, while limiting the generation of waste.
With TEXBIO, we have contributed to the development and study of synergies, both between the different companies in the textile sector in Catalonia, as well as synergies with other sectors of relevance to the sector such as the construction, automotive and " packaging».
This project has been co-financed by the Waste Agency of Catalonia by 75%. For the technical execution of the project, EURECAT collaborated.
