Texfor This week she is participating in Berlin in the 24M General Assembly & Consortium Meeting of the European project SOLSTICE, which brings together the consortium partners on May 5th and 6th to share progress, results and next steps in the development of circular solutions for the textile sector.
SOLSTICE It is a project funded by the program Horizon Europe of the European Union that works to to promote more sustainable models in the textile industryTheir approach combines waste prevention, reuse, repair, recycling, and improved material traceability, with the aim of facilitating the transition to a more circular textile economy.
During the meeting, progress on the regional pilot projects being developed in different European territories was presented: Berlin, Grenoble, Prato and CataloniaIn the Catalan case, the pilot is led by the Catalonia Waste Agency and focuses on prevention and textile reuse strategies in urban environments.
Texfor participates in SOLSTICE as responsible for the Pilots Monitoring, a task of monitoring, analyzing and evaluating the impact of the pilot actions developed in the different territories.
In this frame, Montse Ibáñez, Texfor's Project Manager, presented during the meeting the evaluation methodology and initial results obtained in the pilots of Prato and Berlin.
This work allows for the collection of comparable information between territories, the assessment of the progress of the planned actions, and the contribution of the project's results to be transferred more effectively to other industrial and urban contexts.
In addition to strategies related to reuse, repair, and waste reduction, SOLSTICE incorporates a line of scientific research focused on the recycling of complex materials, including the polyamide and the polyurethane.
In this area, Texfor would like to especially thank its partners for their collaboration. Sail y Leitat, who have contributed industrial and post-consumer waste to help develop solutions that are closer to the reality of the company.
The meeting in Berlin also shared progress related to another of SOLSTICE's objectives: the development of traceability tools, such as the Product Digital Passportand in the definition of data, indicators and guidelines that can support companies, administrations and decision-makers.
La General Assembly & Consortium Meeting SOLSTICE has enabled the consortium partners to align around the next milestones of the project and to continue advancing solutions that connect research, territory and industry to accelerate textile circularity in Europe.
